How does ResTrust help job candidates?

In today's competitive market, job seekers need to stand out from the competition. Resume fraud is running rampant throughout the business world. Employers are increasingly looking for candidates and resumes that they can trust BEFORE the interview and hiring process begins. ResTrust sets you apart from other job candidates. Our service follows the exact same procedures as a background check.

What do I get back from ResTrust?

If the information you ask us to verify, matches what we receive back, we automatically send you your resume(s) back (in a pdf form) with the ResTrust Stamp. You will also receive a verification form which shows you the information you entered versus the information we received back. Each ResTrust stamp will contain your unique I.D. #. Employers will use this number of view the verification form (ResTrust does not have the employer see your certified resume...unless you elect to post your resume on our certified resume board...for more information please see our certified resume board FAQs).

If for some reason the information you entered to be verified does not match the information we receive back, we will contact you in an effort to resolve any discrepancies. We will not post your resume until the resume matches the information we receive back.

What types of information does ResTrust verify?

ResTrust currently verifies employment, education, and professional credentials.

For employment
, ResTrust will verify start dates, end dates, job titles. ResTrust does not obtain reference information from past employers. ResTrust will obtain and report only verifiable facts and does not report on past performance or any subjective areas.

For education and certification
, ResTrust will verify dates of attendance and degrees or certificates granted.

How secure is your site?

We use a fully protected SSL secured server (Geo Trust). It is the same technology used by other sites that contain sensitive and confidential information. We also utilize the same technology as traditional background check companies.

 

How does it work?

Our process is simply 3 steps. Register, select what information you would like verified and up-load your resume. Most individuals will have his or her last three jobs and most recent degree and certification verified. ResTrust can typically go back up to seven (7) years on all jobs.

Please note: Consistent with industry standards, a one to three month window is provided for dates of employment, education, and credentials between what individual reports on his or her resume and what is received by ResTrust. What if I have multiple versions of my resume?

Restrust allows you to upload three versions of your resume. Each version will be stamped with the same unique I.D. code. When an employer views your information on our website, they only see the verification form.

Should I verify every job I have ever had?

Industry experts suggest you go back seven years. Most companies that conduct a background check go back this far.

What does the employer see when he or she enters my unique I.D. code?

The employer sees your verification form which should match the employment, education and credential information contained within the body of your resume. Since you may have multiple versions of your resume, the employer does not actually see the resume.

What if I feel uncomfortable having my most current employer verified?

When ResTrust calls your current employer, we only indicate we are verifying employment. We actually do not know (and we don't ask) why you are having your resume certified. Many people have their resume certified for rental apartment applications, online dating services, speaking engagements, loan applications, etc.

If you still are uncomfortable, do not have your most current employer verified. Simply return to our site when you feel it's the right time.

Why are you asking me for my social security number? I am uncomfortable giving that over the internet and I don't want to be a victim of identity theft.

We realize that this can be a sensitive issue. However, many employers and schools utilize the social security number as a unique identifier. It is often needed to complete verification. When the number is transmitted, to our server, we use, encryptions and secure servers. Unfortunately, without the social security number, we are unable to access the information.

Why might ResTrust contact me to request more information about where past employers are located or to send a W-2 or some other form of verification - why can't you just verify everything?

ResTrust must contact the past employer or an authorized agent of the past employer directly in order to begin the process. If a job seeker has not provided enough detail to identity and locate the past employer, ResTrust may need to contact you. There are also times when past employers are difficult to contact because they have moved, merged, changed names or gone out of business. If the past employer no longer exists, ResTrust may contact you for W-2 or other information that can be used to verify past employment.

How do I access the ResTrust system to view the status of my order?

Simply log into the system using your UNIQUE user name and password that takes you to YOUR status page where you will see the exact status of your order.

How does the employer view my resume?

Your pdf certified resume and verification form both contain the ResTrust stamp. The stamp includes your unique I.D. code. The employer logins into the system and enters your code. The employer will then be able to view the verification form only.

How do I access my account or update my certified resume after the certification process?

Simply log back in, and your information will always be there. If you forget your password, there is a password retrieval link.

How does ResTrust verify my information?

ResTrust utilizes the services of a national background screening company. This is an independent, third party that specializes in contacting past employers, schools and licensing organizations to verify information on behalf of employers.

How long does it take?

ResTrust normally requires 3-5 working days to obtain the information. If the information you provide ResTrust does not match the information we receive back, delays may occur.

What if I am an independent contractor?

In this circumstance, you will need to fax us a copy of your 1099?

Can I use my ResTrust verifications with a job board?

Yes! Post your certified resume on any job board. If for some reason you are unable to post ResTrust certified resume, we recommend that you add the following disclosure to the bottom of your resume....My resume has been certified by ResTrust. My unique I.D. # is xxxxxxxxxx. Please go to restrust.net, enter as an employer, and verify my background using my unique I.D. #.

The disclosure above will allow the employer to easily log into our site and view your information.

What happens if you cannot get the information?

ResTrust cannot guarantee that information is available. Sometimes it is not possible to get all of the information for a job candidate. Employers can go bankrupt, change names, move and merge as well as destroy or relocate records. In these instances the information on the resume will show up as "not verified" with a description as to why we could not verify the information.

How does the billing work?

ResTrust provides a service. We make our best effort to obtain all the information you fill out in our verification template. You are charged by a credit card through a secured system when the order is placed and the information gathering process begins.

Am I charged even if ResTrust does not get the information?

If ResTrust is not able to obtain the information through no fault of our own, then you will still be charged. We do our best to verify everything you request.

What is your refund policy?

Because we are providing a service, once an order is placed, it is final. However, if you feel that you are entitled to a refund due to an unusual circumstance, please contact us via e-mail.
